I’m very strong at
analyzing inductive arguments and recognizing the difference between rhetoric
and strong arguments. This can help me in any number of future career choices.
I heard a talk with Bill Gates and Warren Buffet speaking to a group of
students. According to both of them communication is the strongest skill any
potential can have to improve their job outlook. According to one of them
improving ones communication skills can increase his potential job earnings by
up to fifty percent. I believe that analyzing inductive arguments and
recognizing rhetoric are critical thinking skills which can contribute strongly
to one’s communication skills. Being able to analyze arguments will also help
one to create and present strong inductive arguments, understand what evidence
is necessary to create a strong argument, and understand what evidence is missing
from an argument someone is presenting to me. I think that being able to think
critically to analyze argument is a skill that will strongly improve future
career choices.
I think that critical thinking is a quite an outstanding ability to possess. Nowadays, we are faced with situations where we need to apply our critical thinking. I agree with your point of view. I think that being able to analyze arguments and different situations along with their cause and effects is one of the best steps to coming up with the most appropriate solution. Furthermore, it also adds strength to whatever argument you are supporting. I liked how you added an outside source of the conversation you heard between Bill Gates and Warren Buffet. It added credibility to your point.
ReplyDeleteIn your post you say that you know how to analyze inductive arguments. I believe that this is a very important skill that everyone should have. However, a lot of people may find it difficult because of the fact that inductive arguments are essentially inconclusive because there is not a need to be undeniably correct. That being said I think it could be used in many different careers, even my own career aspirations of being a vet. Such as when trying to figure out what happened to an animal, animals can’t talk so as a vet you need to try and figure out what happened based on the symptoms and the conclusion can’t be undeniably true because you didn’t see the situation through the animal’s eyes.
